Sweet Home Alabama

Alabama is my sweet childhood  home.  Today I’m leaving Kentucky in hopes of  being with my family.  I love, love, love my dad and step mom.  They are always there for me.  They make me feel special every time I talk to them.

I want to say hi to all my new friends here on Word-Press and Happy New Year!

Here’s another one of my favorite songs.   I am so ready to sing and come home to Alabama!  It has been a long time.”,,,,here I come, Alabama!”

‘TURN IT UP!!!!’

Guitar Hero Rocks!

What a great Christmas present!  My son got a Guitar Hero World Tour Complete Band for Christmas.  I have heard people that I know talk about how fun Guitar Hero is.  I know now!

My family has been spending some quality time together since Christmas(thank you, Guitar Hero).

So far, my favorite song to play is ‘Beat It’  by Micheal Jackson.  I play the drums when the family plays.  I can now play on the Easy setting(I’ve moved up from Beginner).

I’m letting all you bloggers know what I have been up to.   Yesterday I worked out for 2 hours, yay!  I burned about 600 calories  on the treadmill and total gym.  I only ate one sweet, too!  Today I ate two(Awh!).

Blogging(It’s a Whole New World)

Today marks two weeks blogging for me.  I love it!  What a great way to express yourself!  And also, what a great way to learn about people in general–their interests, thoughts, and advice.  Much can be gained through blogging.  It has given me a new sense of peace, sparked my imagination, and uncluttered my mind.

On this website I have come across many wonderful, interesting people that blog about their lives.   I love to tag surf with those I have things in common with.  I have found out that people are more friendly in their comments than I would have believed.  People are just great!  I’m a people person.

I could stay on wordpress hours at a time.  I do believe I am hooked.

Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow

Fleetwood Mac-Don’t Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow) LIVE!

Yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone!  Yay!  I have a vision for what I will become in the near future.  I will be a more disciplined person, full of hope and confidence.   I’m getting there bit by bit.  I splurged a little with the Derby pie and the truffles the last couple of days. Overall, I don’t think I have taken in too many calories this Christmas time.

Pluses Toward My Goal Of 125

+++ One thing I have given up is pop.  Now  I drink a couple small cups of coffee, a large glass of unsweetened tea, and plenty of  water daily.

+++ Also, I have started lifting weights every few days.

+++ I have been walking on my treadmill daily when I can.

+++ The last four workouts on my treadmill, I have incorporated running for about half of the workout.  I walk 3.5 mph while listening to my 1st song on the MP3 player, and then I run 5.5 mph with the 2nd song and alternate those  two speeds for each new song.

+++I am jotting down for all the world to see when I go overboard and overindulge in food.

+++I have created this blog  to keep me focused and more accountable.

+++I have found a buddy to relate to, to share my thoughts, and to keep me on the positive–Madison, thank you!

That Spirit of Christmas and Christmas Vacation

I love Ray Charles’ song,  “That Spirit of Christmas”.  It brings happy memories of past Christmases.

One of the best Christmas movies and also the funniest movies of all time ( in my opinion) is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.  The song, “That Spirit of Christmas” by Ray Charles, begins at 4:15 in this video.

I hope everybody has a great Christmas day!  Let’s make many beautiful memories!

What is your favorite Christmas movie and song?  Please comment.

Hold On Tight To Your Dreams

This is another great song by ELO. It keeps me motivated. I love the beat and the lyrics.

Hold On Tight To Your Dreams by ELO

I like all kinds of music. Music makes the world go round.

I weighed this morning before breakfast. I was 140. Good! Yesterday at Shoney’s I didn’t eat any sweets. Can you believe it?

The last couple of days I have burned 250 calories each day on my treadmill. I would walk about 3 mph while listening to a song on my mp3 player, and then run about 5 mph on the next song, etc. I can run longer than I thought I could.

Don’t Bring Me Down!

This is my theme song, Don’t Bring Me Down by ELO.  I play it on my mp3 at the end of my treadmill exercise.  It is upbeat and very inspirational to me.  For more inspiration I have pictures of Victoria’s Secret models to keep me focused.  I want to be trim all over.

Well, I just weighed.  The scale reads 143.5!  I can’t believe it.  I’m not giving up, though.  This only makes me want to do better each day.  Today I’m supposed to meet at Shoney’s with my family.  My aim is to eat a small amount and no sweets.

I want this blog to be positive.  So I’ll continue in that way and say that on my last journal, I put down what I planned to do that day and I kept with 8 of the 10 goals.  Yay!!!!  I also have been turning down sweets left and right.

If anyone wants to comment on this, feel free.  I need a comment, please.  I am new to blogging  and am waiting for my first comment.
